We continue to build more giant puppets and props and can use our community's help in tracking down many used and recyclable materials to get creative with!
Additionally, we are looking for a few building supplies as we continue to convert our vintage aluminium highcube shipping container into a more functional all-weather space.
Email Moni if you would like to donate the following and are able to drop them off in North Portland (for large building supplies we can arrange to pick-up instead):
CARDBOARD: Large single-ply corrugated cardboard boxes. ALSO single-walled corrugated cardboard sheeting.
CLAY: Water-based/ceramic sculpting clay. Can be dried out--we'll re-hydrate it.
FABRIC: Rip-stop nylon fabric, plus other lightweight, quick-dry, fabrics in large segments. Both colorful and neutral colors, but not patterns.
LED LIGHTS: Save us your used stings of fairy lights and LED strip, long or short. We'll recycle any dead watch batteries then rebuild the strings with rechargable batteries to use in our lanterns.
PAINT BRUSHES: Large (house-painting ones) and small (artist ones). Used is fine as long as they are usable.
PAPER: Big brown paper shopping bags. Used school bulletin board paper / colored Kraft roll paper. White paper bread flour and sugar bags (10lbs and 25lbs). For paper mache.
INSULATION FOAM: We need sheets of pink or bead foam to insulate our container and reduce condensation build up that can damage our puppets. 4x8 sheets are great, but we'll take smaller pieces leftover from building projects too. We can use both 2" and 1" thickness.
